A great easy going 12 mile or so trail and one of the more popular destinations for e-bikes in Boulder County. The different trail loops allow for multiple combination of routes and all trails lead right to the main drag (2nd Street) in downtown Niwot. Grab a pint at the local bike shop ~ Niwot Wheel Works (in the former Powder Keg brewery) and checkout live music every Rock N’ Rails Thursday Night in the summer at Whistlestop Park.
One of many creek bridges on the LoBo trail in Boulder, County.
We are not sure why the Boulder County Open Space folks decided to stop e-bike access right at the tunnel under State Highway 52 (see red at bottom of map). E-bike access picks right back up the hill just south on the map in the Gunbarrel neighborhood of Boulder. There is also a long trail system behind Niwot High School (area just above NIWOT text on map) that appears to be open to e-bikes. We haven’t noticed any signs restricting e-bike access but this area is a bit away from town.
